Lorelei and G at Home in Dja Nboo

Here is a quick little shot of G and me relaxing at home, the same day we got the top floor of the house finished. Again, thankfully, my photography has improved dramatically since I took this shot.

Along the tracks past the Imperial Forest

Even in the virtual world of Second Life, envy sneaks in. For anyone who wants to go to a lovely nature-inspired place, check out the Imperial Forest. It is one of the first real treasures I discovered when I came to SL and is the inspiration for my project, The Preserve. When you go to Imperial Forest, find the railroad tracks and follow them. I love to fly over roads and railroad tracks. There is always something amazing to discover. When I had flown for quite a ways along the railroad tracks that run through the Imperial Forest, I discovered some amazing places. Hard to describe, so I'll just include the pics and leave it with this. The creativity and imagination you find in SL is awe-inspiring. The things that people create when given no limits is extraordinary. Here is proof. This is where the envy comes in...I wish I had a place like that!!!!

The Digs that Overlook The Preserve

My friend G built us a lovely rounded house that overlooks what will be The Preserve. I decorated it and we have enjoyed living there in our little house in the sky in our virtual world. Here is my very good friend Marlena Petrov, checking out the new place. She is on the left, that is me on the right. When we go shopping together, we are one seriously powerful duo. Marlena is a dancer now at Parrot Bay, so stop in and say hello. And tell her you saw her on the web.

Where I spend most of my time in Second Life

My friend G. and I are working on what will be a fantastic place called The Preserve. I am including the before pics here. These were taken in the second week of March 2007 in Second Life. The Preserve is located in the Dja Nboo section, and from the shots taken here, you can see that we have had lots of work to do... The shot on the left is the back side, and captures the lovely Rabbit House, our neighbor's creation. Fortunately, the little gem is no longer with us, replaced with something much more neighbor friendly. One thing you soon discover in Second Life: If you want to escape obnoxious neighbors, go live on an island somewhere. We thought the Rabbit House was bad until the land next to us on another side suddenly sprouted a 4 story bright pink BDSM club, complete with nice, high brightly lit ad boxes all over the sky.... Oh, well, perhaps the traffic it brings in will do The Preserve well. Must find the good in the bad and the ugly.

Gnosis, my Friend

Most who are friendly with me in SL are aware of a person that I refer to as G.
Gnosis Ginsberg, a.k.a. G. has been my friend since my first night in SL. He is my best friend in the metaverse, my mentor, unofficial partner and also my employer. Here is a shot of Gnosis and me relaxing on a public beach, Cape Newport Bay, a sweet place well worth checking out. (Notice my spiffy purple beachwear ensemble from Solange!)

I must apologize for the lousy photography here. I'm improving...this was taken weeks ago!

Group Therapy Exists in the Metaverse

For those who are avid fans of group discussion and therapy, SL has you covered. At the Center for Positive Mental Health, you will find a comfortable place for meeting new friends and discussing the finer points of behavior and mental stability. I need to go there often. Here is a shot my friend Morgan B. took of me as I experienced this place for the first time. Yes, those are wings and pink hair.

We've Got to Get Ourselves Back to the Garden

A dear SL friend introduced me to this lovely little garden only a few days before it was turned into something completely different. Here is my memory of that sweet and lovely place in SL. Things of beauty are worth creating and preserving, whether it be in the real or virtual world. Though it seems consumerism always trumps simple nature and beauty, and there is no escape from it, not even in Second Life.

March 12, 2007... Lorelei goes parachuting

My first try at parachuting. This is one activity in SL that does not translate well to the virtual world. While in Real Life, parachuting is extreme, exciting and filled with the rush of adrenaline, in SL, parachuting is fairly anti-climactic. When you can fly around without assistance, where is the thrill?

I'm Still Here, Thanks for Asking!

Has it really been so long? I do have my reasons for taking so very long to update my blog.... First and foremost, my Second Life combined with my Real Life has not left much time for extras...But what really stopped me was, *sniff, quivering lip* the untimely and tragic death of my laptop. Much was lost...(sound of weeping, accompanied by the sound of a tiny violin...) I have now come to terms with it all, but life goes on, both here and in the virtual world. So I'M BACK!!!

For a while, I will focus on posting old pics, until I can get myself and you, my dear readers, updated on what has been going on in the Second Life world of Lorelei Larsson...
